Welsh Archery Association - Supporting Archery In Wales

WAA Awards - Celtic Knots, Welsh Leeks, Daffodils & Dragons

WAA awards four series of badges to archers achieving specified scores indoors or outdoors.  Badges are free to WAA members (but see note below re. postage charge) and may be bought for a small charge by non-members. There are six levels of achievement for each award: White, Black, Blue, Red, Gold, Purple. Each level of badge may be claimed only once.

Celtic Knot badges are awarded for any age-appropriate round in the WA1440 and Metric I-V series.

Welsh Leek badges are awarded for any age-appropriate round in the WA720 series.

Daffodils may be achieved for York, Hereford and Bristol I-V rounds.

Dragons are the indoor award - they are awarded for both Portsmouth and WA18 rounds, but the same colour may not be claimed for both rounds. Other indoor rounds may be shot to achieve a WAA Indoor Classification - see separate article.

To be eligible for these awards, rounds must be shot in an Open competition under World Archery or GNAS rules, although there does not have to be a qualified Judge present.  Rounds can be shot anywhere in the UK.

Further details, including the required scores, are given on the claim forms.

Please note: there is now a postage charge for all badges sent out by post. Payments by bank transfer are now accepted.
