Target Rankings 2026

Archers affiliated to the Welsh Archery Association are invited to submit scores as they achieve them during the 2025 outdoor season for inclusion in the Welsh archery rankings. The current rankings of Welsh archers in all bow styles will be published on this page periodically throughout the summer.

Rankings are based on scores achieved in qualifying tournaments. These are:

for Men, all bowstyles:                              York, WA 1440 (90m)

for Women, all bowstyles:                         Hereford, WA 1440 (70m) / Metric I

for Men & Women, Recurve & Longbow: WA 70m

for Men & Women, Compound:                WA 50m (Compound)

for Men & Women, Barebow:                   WA 50m (Barebow).

Junior and 50+ archers may be included in the Senior rankings if they shoot any of the above rounds. A 50+ ranking is also maintained which additionally includes the WA 1440 (70m) and the Hereford for Men, the WA 1440 (60m) and Bristol II for Women, and the WA 60m for Men and Women Recurve and Longbow. There is no separate Junior ranking, nor is there an indoor ranking.

An archer's ranking is calculated as an average handicap value of their best 5 submitted scores. Until 5 scores have been submitted archers may find themselves lower in the list than their handicap appears to merit, but as more scores are submitted a truer picture will emerge. At the end of the outdoor season a final ranking list will be published showing all Welsh archers who have submitted scores from qualifying rounds.

All Welsh Tournament Organisers are requested to forward a copy of their results to the Rankings Officer as soon as they are published, and if any Welsh archer would like to include a score shot outside of Wales then please forward a copy of the final official results list to the Rankings Officer (email address below) no later than 2 months after the tournament. Closing date for inclusion is 1st October. The Rankings Officer will endeavour to update the live list at least once a month during the outdoor season. If you have shot at a qualifying tournament, and do not appear on the list within a month, please check that the RO has received your results.
