Academies

WAA holds a Junior and Senior Academy every year during the Indoor season (October to March).

The Academies are usually held at the National Sports Centre for Wales at Sophia Gardens in Cardiff.

Academy training sessions give junior and senior archers access to coaching, training and support to further develop their archery skills with a view to competing at the higher levels of archery and to possibly represent Wales as part of the official Welsh Senior and Junior Target Teams at a variety of events. WAA Academy archers are expected to put themselves forward for the Welsh Teams. However, being a member of the Academy does not automatically guarantee a place on any Welsh Teams as WAA will ask all Welsh archers to express an interest for any given event at the relevant time.

Applications for the Academies open in September and details of the selection criteria will be published on the News Section.
