I am sure that you are all aware of the current regulations prohibiting archery in Wales. This is especially disappointing as we hear about the return to archery in England, Scotland and Northern Ireland. Rest assured I have been working on your behalf to try to get our sport back up and running and I have been co-ordinating both with Sport Wales and the Welsh Sports Association to make sure that they are aware of the procedures that we are able to put in place for a safe return for our archers. The Welsh Sports Association is in discussion with various areas of Welsh Government to ensure as speedy a return to sports as possible.
ArcheryGB has provided a very good set of guidelines which I have forwarded on to all responsible parties as an example of what we would be following in Wales with the proviso that we would obviously change anything as required by our local regulations.
Please remember that we are legally restricted by the Welsh Government regulations and as such neither the Welsh Archery Association or ArcheryGB can grant you dispensation to restart archery.
I realise that this is not the news that we want to hear but as soon as I receive any news regarding a resumption of our sport, I will let all clubs know. Please ensure that your club secretary has the right details for your club on the website.
Stay safe and I hope to see you all soon.
